Whole bunches of new projects!

Oh my goodness! It has been a long two days!! I have stayed up till 4 am the last two nights in a row and I feel like I am going to collapse right now! But..... I have not been this inspired in a very very long time! I have felt more creativity flowing through me than ever before! I came across this site a couple days ago and fell in love! There is so much amazing talent there I can not even begin to tell you! The site is called Label Tulip. They are a kit club, but soo soo much more inspiration-wise. They are almost 1 so they were having a birthday?anniversary bash with some amazing challenges! I had to participate. (please forgive bad pictures. the lighting isn't so good in our house right now seeing as it is foggy outside).

This first challenge was done by Waleska. We were supposed to create a LO using this ad below as our inspiration! I thought the ad was awesome and great for use as a sketch. Below it is my interpretation of the ad. It's called So Much Energy. And some close ups follow.

This next challenge is the TG Lift Challenge! I have never done a lift before so I was anxious to do this! I did mine from Holly Hanks These Are The Days You'll Remember LO from the April 2008 gallery. This first pic is Holly's, the last two are mine.






This challenge was done by Holly Hanks. It is a mini album that she designed the template for! It is so easy and so so much fun!! Here is the link to the class! Do it You'll love it! I had such a great time doing this album and have so many ideas for more. I know I am going to be doing some more of these real soon. Holly's version has ten pages and she told us all that we did not have to have that many, depending on how many pictures we wanted to use. It just so happens though that my daughter just turned 10 months! I thought it would be the perfect subject for a little brag book! And it worked out wonderfully! I absolutely love it! Give it a try you will too!~

This one was a "scrap your stash" challenge! Goodness knows I needed to do this one because my scraps of paper container was seriously overflowing! I took some pics of it before I started to do this LO so that I could show you but I think I will go ahead and spare you that. I used so many little bits of paper here and there that it is such a hodge podge of mess that I didn't think it would look that good. But I am actually pleased with how well it turned out. Now I have to mention that everything except the pic and the thickers came out of my scrap boxes! I was so proud of myself for that hehe. Even the backing that everything is on came from a stack of 12 x 12 cardstock that I used up last week! I had lots of fun doing this one because it took no planning whatsoever, just placing and pasteing! Great challenge and if I could do more "scrap your stash" challenges this way, I would in a heart beat! This layout is called Off She Goes. You can not tell there is a She in there because it blends in with the picture (Doh!) buuut it is there.

Loooong Time No Blog

Many a thing has been happening at our house. I had family visiting and they were here for almost two and a half weeks. It threw off our schedule to an extreme but it was wonderful to see them, so we didn't mind. My daughter (who is 10 months today!) has learned to walk. Now that has been a pretty stressful thing, not just for her but for all involved. It has affected everything else..sleeping, eating, other milestones that she has now forgotten that I have to try and reteach! Goodness it is cute though! She is so tiny that it makes it hilarious to see her walking around the house with her bottle like she owns the place! She kinda does though hehe. I have also started doing a lot of reorganizing of the house. We have a lot of stuff and I am still trying to figure out how we got it all. And to add another thing onto my list, I have been trying to get back into shape. I am back to the weight I want to be at but not the physical condition I want. I am seriously out of shape! It will be a hard struggle that will take all my discipline.

I have been doing more scrappin' though! Most of the time it is in the late wee hours but hey it's free time and it's mine, so I take it. This first layout is one that I did for a site that I just discovered! It is called OneLittleWord. They give you one word I think one average per week and it has to be the main title of your layout. There is so much amazing talent on that site that I couldn't help but be inspired!! Definitely check it out! I did a lot of distressing and inking on this page, which you know I love to do. It is a self portrait LO. Took the pic myself hehe. I am holding my hair back because it was quite wiley.

The journaling spot is actually a collection of words that is supposed to go inbetween the am and me. It says, "handling finding fueling chasing creating forgetting screaming analyzing seeing fulfilling feeling distracting asking stretching verbalizing obeying loving hearing wanting celebrating realizing ignoring shushing understanding discovering sacrificing knowing enjoying respecting becoming". I am quite happy with how this LO turned out. It is a true reflection of me right now.


This LO I did for the Xmas in July challenge at Scrapbook N Bits. We were supposed to use christmas paper for a non-christmas theme LO. I made the flowers out of the paper too so that I would try to keep it as much xmas supplies as possible. This LO came together so quick (one night) and so well I was just stoked when I was done! It is a very fun challenge and I had such a great time participating! The competition is going on till the 27th so go over and check it out!


These next few photos are a few cards I did just recently. I am having a lot more fun doing cards lately and get so excited when I am going to do more. The first one is so simple with just cardstock, a stamp and a rub on but I thought it turned out very nice. The last ones I made using my Wild Saffron collection. I love this collection but never have any good pics to put it to. So it turned out quite well being used for cards. Again, lots of fun making these and I can't wait to do some more!

These last pics are sneak peaks of a LO I did of Creedence. I haven't put the journaling on yet so thats why you are just getting sneaks right now. I will do the journaling tonight or something when I have free time and will have the LO up in a few days. This LO is special to me because I really put a lot of love into it. I enjoy just looking at it over and over because I love the color combos and the birds on it! Also the pic (which you have not seen yet!) is just so sweet.

New LOs

So it took me a little while to finish these but I got them done! The more layouts I do the more confident I feel about how they look and come out. But at the same time it just makes me want to scrap that much more! Which would be fine if I didn't have dishes and laundry and baby and cat and mopping and bathroom and, oh can't forget...husband to take care of! There are plently of scrapping moms who fully understand what I am saying. We love every minute of it though.

Ok so this first LO I did for a GDM competition over at Scrapbook 'N' Bits! It was Jolene Pienaar's turn to set the challenge. I always love her work, she gives me so many ideas and is such an inspiration! We were not allowed to use any flowers or chipboard and we had to use ribbon in a creative way. Now,not using flowers and chipboard is hard enough! I used a million buttons to compensate for my want to use flowers and chipboard. The ribbon I, honestly, don't think I used in the most creative way. I used it instead of a whole bunch of patterned paper for color. Then the buttons expanded off those colors. This was such an absolutely fun page to do because I distressed and inked everything I could, which I love doing! All the ribbons, tags and letters have been distressed and inked in some way. Like I said I had a lot of fun doing this page and really like how it turned out! The following pic is a close up of details and things.

This next LO that I did is my favorite so far. I love the richness of the colors I used and want to use them again soon! On this page I used so many different elements from so many different sets of paper and embellishments that I am still amazed at how awesomely it all turned out! I have so few pics of me and Creedence together (you know how it is when you become a mom...always behind the camera!) that I am pleased to have these few sweet shots situated in such a happy way! Like I said this is my favorite and really enjoyed doing it. It was also my quickest LO yet...just two days! While the previous LO on this post took 3 weeks! Talk about crazy business! Just so you know, I had first intended on cutting the over-hanging sides of the circle off so that it would be a 12x12 LO (and that way I could fit it into an archive sleeve) but I liked it hanging over so much that I just left it! Now I have the task of figuring out how to store it. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them!

Slacker Blogger....

Yes, I admit to it. It has been a busy few days since my last post but I haven't been busy 24/7. I said I was going to post again the very next day and didn't. I did do another LO though and I love it! I haven't taken any pictures of it yet but I will post it on here this week. Now the last post I did I told you I would be back to give you more and I am here now (though late!) to do so. These are cards I did for a workshop over at Scrap This! It was alot of fun but surprisingly challenging. Trying to stay true to the original and following instructions while putting in your own style and creativity wasn't easy. I will certainly be doing more workshops over there because a challenge is always fun! Now, I did three cards. The first is a greeting card, the second is a thank you card (as you can tell!) and the third is a birth announcement.

This last one, just in case you couldn't see the tiny writing on the card, says 'new arrival'. Like I said these were a lot of fun and with the simple yet stunning template we were to follow, it was easy to create stunning (and quick) cards for any occasion! Hope you like them. Let me know! -Amy
